Travelling to

The Academy

Star Salford Academy is committed to supporting sustainable travel initiatives. We encourage pupils and staff to walk or cycle to school where possible, or to use public transport. This commitment is part of the school’s overall strategic vision to be good neighbours, care for the environment and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Walk

With health and reduced carbon emissions in mind, we always encourage pupils to walk to the Academy, if the distance is manageable.

Cycle

Pupils should dismount their bike outside of the school premises and walk their bike onto the school site. Pupils will have access to a bike store which is covered by CCTV. Pupils are responsible for the security of their bike and should use an appropriate lock to secure it whilst in school.

Cycle safety is very important, and all pupils should wear a helmet when travelling to school. Locker provision is available to store helmets during the day.

Bus

The nearest bus stop is located on Madams Wood Road. This stop is on bus route 36.

There are also two bus stops located a short walk away along the A6 Manchester Road East. Bus routes 20, 38 and X39 stop at this location.

Further information on the bus routes can be found here: Travel by bus | Transport for Greater Manchester (tfgm.com)

Car

There is no vehicle access or parking on the Academy site for parents/carers. Parents must find a suitable and safe location to drop off and collect pupils travelling by car. Pupils and staff travelling to school by car are encouraged to car share.
